You may know me already! If this is not the case, my name is Melanie Gomez, the maker behind “Donum Terra” (Latin for Gift from the Earth).

I started making jewelry out of boredom at a job I did not enjoy at all. I began making paper beads because that was the only thing I could do with my fingers without looking! Soon, I had a big bag of beads and started putting them together into...jewelry!

I then, became interested in trying more materials like copper, leather, resin, sterling silver and natural stones, along with techniques such as beading, wirewrapping and silver-smithing. I fell in love with it! I found my passion in the most unexpected way and although I have a background in biology, I am an artist by heart for sure! 

It has been 12 years that I ventured myself in a never ending passion for creating. I find inspiration everywhere but mainly from the geometry and symbolism that nature offers in such simple yet amazing ways.  My work is a fussion of rustic design and timeless elegance with my own personal flare!
